REFLECTIONS ON PERCEPTIONS

Our perceptions shape our reality.  As I see it so it shall be it.  Recently I read a great example of that in the Daily Word (www.dailyword.com)  The title was I CONFIDENTLY OPEN THE DOOR TO MY GOOD.

"A door can be a symbol either of freedom or bondage, depending upon my viewpoint.  Some closed doors are opened with the turn of a doorknob, others must be opened with a key, while others require only a push.

When a door appears closed, some action on my part may be necessary.  Faith may be needed to turn the knob; prayer may be the key to unlock the door; willingness and persistence may supply the push to open it.

A door is a meaningful symbol, for it represents both leaving and entering.  Some doors lead away from a phase of my life that is complete.  Through others I enter a new phase or untried path.  Today I confidently open the door to my good."

Through the years some doors of my mind were closed and kept me prisoner in self limiting perceptions, imprints, patterns and behaviors.  Each awareness, each mindful moment, each time I was still, the closed doors of my mind opened and my perception changed.  With the change of perception my reality changed.  For each door in my life that closed 10 others opened.

Yes today I confidently open the door to my good:  I want it, I accept it, I deserve it, I rejoice in it and I give thanks for it!

The 'door' symbolism has always resonated with me. Thanks for the reminder.
On May 10, 2011, I am re-opening a door that's been closed for many years. Take that back, I'm 'opening' a new door to my creative expression! Better. I'm auditioning for The Spartanburg Little Theatre production of "ANNIE." I made a promise,to myself, that the next musical production audition opportunity that presented itself, would have me smack in the midst of it. There new home is the Daniel W. Reid Theatre, located at the new Chapman Cultural Center (opened after your relocation...I'm thinking 2008, maybe). I'm excited, nervous, scared, hopeful: all the 'stuff' that comes up for me re: auditions. Reading this entry reminds me to affirm, upon entering the door of that theatre- I GO TO MEET MY GOOD!
Love you,
Ken
